Colorado Artificial Intelligence Act: Who Must Comply
Which organizations and roles fall within the scope of this law and must comply.
Who must comply
Colorado Artificial Intelligence Act (C.R.S. § 6-1-1701 to § 6-1-1707) applies to organizations that meet the following:
- Roles covered: developer, deployer.
- Jurisdictional scope: persons doing business in Colorado or whose AI systems affect consumers in Colorado.
- Industries within scope: healthcare, financial services, hr hiring, education, insurance, housing, legal, government services. See industry-specific applicability: healthcarefinancial serviceshr hiring.
Common exemptions
