Which organizations and roles fall within the scope of this law and must comply.
Who must comply
Texas Responsible Artificial Intelligence Governance Act (TRAIGA) (Tex. Bus. & Com. Code Ch. 49 (Subch. J)) applies to organizations that meet the following:
- Roles covered: developer, deployer.
- Jurisdictional scope: persons doing business in Texas or whose AI systems affect consumers in Texas.
- Industries within scope: healthcare, financial services, hr hiring, education, insurance, housing, legal, government services. See industry-specific applicability: healthcarefinancial serviceshr hiring.
Common exemptions
